Advanced Organic Chemistry
Course Information
Objectives:
The main goal is to understand the types of metabolites that occur in Nature, the building blocks from which they are
made, the sequence and chemical mechanisms of their assembly (biosynthesis), and the methods by which the assembly
can be studied or controlled. A key goal is to be able to draw detailed chemical mechanisms for common reactions.

Exams and Grade Distribution:
Midterm Exam (45 %) is on Tuesday evening, February 15, 2005, and Final Exam (55%) will be scheduled by agreement
No supplemental exam or re-examination. Problem sets for practice only will be made available at this site.

Schedule - Cancellations and Rescheduling:
The classes on February 17, and March 1 and March 3 are cancelled and will be rescheduled to different dates.
