EZOmnic Software - The Basics

The Nicolet IR100/iS5 FT-IR spectrometers are controlled by the program EZ Omnic running on the PC.

  1. Open EZ Omnic by double-clicking its icon on the Windows desktop:

  1. Under EXPERIMENT on the Menu bar, select Default - Chem 241/243/333.

Selecting the default experiment

The system is now ready for you to record infrared spectra.

There are three steps to be followed when recording an IR spectrum:

  1. Obtain a background
  2. Record the spectrum
  3. Process the spectrum
