The Nicolet IR100/iS5 FT-IR Spectrometer The Nicolet IR100/iS5 FT-IR consists of a spectrometer attached to a PC and laser printer. Nicolet IR100/iS5 FT-IR System Samples are prepared and placed in a holder in the sample compartment. Infrared radiation is then passed through the sample to produce a spectrum which is interpretted to gain insight into the structure of the molecule(s) that make up the sample (click here to review the theory of infrared spectroscopy).
