Yaqian received her BSc in Chemistry from Xiamen University, China, in 1997. She then started her PhD research with Dr. Jäger in September, 1997, and graduated this summer. In June 2002 she went to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany) for a two-year postdoc stay with Prof. Dr. Suhm.
Her research in the Jäger group involves the investigation of weakly bound complexes of simple hydrocarbons, such as methane, ethylene, and acetylene, using Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy and ab initio methods.
