Hans received a BSc degree (Honours) from the University of Victoria in 1998 and a MSc degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Alberta in 2000. He joined Dr. Jäger’s group in the fall of 2000.

His PhD project involves the construction of a mid-infrared, tunable diode laser absorption spectrometer (TDLAS) for the purpose of atmosphering trace gas sensing and study of weakly bound complexes.
