September 2010:

The group welcomes Ekadashi Pradhan as a new graduate student. Ekadashi joins us after completing an M.Sc. at IIT-Bombay.


August 2010:

The group says goodbye to Bryan, Marie, and WangXi who finished up their summer research position in the group. Bryan and Marie start back to classes while WangXi takes up an Industrial Internship position at Gilead. Good luck!


August 2010:

Congratulations to former Alberta Ingenuity post-doctoral fellow Qadir Timerghazin, who starts his new position as an Assistant Professor at Marquette University, see his website.


July 2010:

Alex co-organizes the 17th Canadian Symposium on Theoretical Chemistry in Edmonton. Ryan and Stephanie, as well as former group members Javier and Qadir, present posters, see Presentations .


June 2010:

Alex gives an invited talk at the CIFAR Forum on Interdisciplinary Nanoscience in Edmonton.


June 2010:

Alex gives an invited talk in the Theoretical Chemical Dynamics symposium at the 93rd CSC meeting in Toronto.


May 2010:

The group welcomes Marie, Bryan, and WangXi as summer students. Bryan (who was awarded an NSERC-USRA) will be implementing new methods for improving the efficiency of SC-IVR into the molecular modeling toolkit (MMTK). WangXi joins the group through the International Student Work Study Program. WangXi will be examining QM/MM methods for studying the blue fluorescent protein. Marie will be studying new fluorescent molecules for biological labelling in conjunction with the group of Prof. Chris Cairo.


May 2010:

The group says goodbye to Meiyu who finished up her PDF position in the group. Good luck Meiyu!


April 2010:

Alex receives an NSERC Discovery grant for the next five years.


March 2010:

Congratulations to Ryan for being awarded an NSERC PGS-D3 scholarship!


January 2010:

Group says goodbye to Craig who has finished up his CHEM 401 project and is now moving on to try the world of analytical chemistry. Good luck Craig!
