September 2005:

Kyle Greene joins the group as a graduate student to study photodynamics in DNA. Ryan Zaari continues in the group as a CHEM 401 student studying the optimal control of vibrational excitation. Chen Liang joins the group as a CHEM 299 student.

July 2005:

Dr. Brown's work (began as a post-doctoral fellow at Emory University and finished at the University of Alberta) with Prof. Joel Bowman (Emory University) and Prof. Anne McCoy (The Ohio State University) on protonated methane (CH5+) was reported on in an article in the July 25, 2005 issue of Chemical and Engineering News. To read the Chemical and Engineering News article click here. To read the scientific articles, see papers 26, 28 and 30 in Publications.

May 2005:

Kyle Greene, David Jodoin (NSERC USRA), and Ryan Zaari join the group as a summer research students. Kyle is working on ab initio molecular dynamics, David is studying molecular photodissociation, and Ryan is examining problems in laser control.

April 2005:

NSERC funds my Discovery Grant "Laser-induced dynamics: Molecular Photodissociation and Laser Control."

January 2005:

Jesse Kadosh rejoins the group as a CHEM 401 student. The title of his project is "Optimal Laser Control of Vibrational Population Transfer: Isotope Effects."
