Welcome to the Chemistry 164/261/264 web site! The goal of this course is to help you understand the structure, nomenclature, physical properties and reactions of common classes of organic compounds. You will also learn about the natural occurrences, uses and applications of various organic compounds.

This site is designed to help you succeed in Chem 164/261. The material in this web site is meant to provide a basis for the class.

    • Time: 5:00 to 6:20 PM
    • Location: Zoom Conference - info to come

  • Special Help Session for the Final:
    • Date: Friday December 11, 2020 (subject to change)
    • Time: 5:00 to 6:20 PM
    • Location Zoom Conference - info to come

  • Midterm Exam = 310 points
    • Date: Friday, October 23, 2020 - 12 Noon to 12:50 PM (50 minutes)
    • Bring Models - No books, notes or extraneous electronic devices
    • Location By Electronic Download just before 12 noon and Answer Sheet Electronic Upload before 1 PM
    • SSDS (Special Services - renamed Accessibilty Services) students must submit form
  • Zoom Attendance = 50 points
    • MWF at 12:30 noon to 12:50 PM- access to be provided via email
    • 4 Free Absences, then percent attended times 50 points
    • Weight may be transferred to Midterm Exam upon written request with justification before Final Exam
  • Final Exam (no supplemental exam) = 390 points
    • Date: Monday Dec 14, 2020 - 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM (90 minutes)
    • Bring Models - no books, notes or extraneous electronic devices
    • Location By Electronic Access on eClass at 9:00 AM and Submission before 10:30 AM
    • SSDS (Special Services - renamed Accessibilty Services) students must contact & follow their instructions
