Attendance

Attendance is mandatory. Contact Dr. Norman Gee (E2-34B) in person if you have missed or will miss a lab.

Start dates

CHEM 105 : Friday, January 10th for sections Y02, Y04, Z02, Z04.
CHEM 102 : Monday, January 20th.

Lab manual

Before labs begin, purchase a 2002/2003 lab manual ($9.75) from the bookstore in the SUB and carry out the instructions on p. 13. You will not be permitted to try the lab without a manual.

Safety glasses

Safety glasses must be worn at all times. Over-the-top safety glasses are required if you wear prescription glasses. Glasses are available from the Undergraduate Chemistry Storeroom, E2-29.

Check-in

Make sure that all of your equipment is present and in good condition. You will be charged for missing or damaged equipment at the end of the semester.

Pre-lab assignments

For each experiment, there is a pre-lan assignment to be handed in at the beginning of the lab.

Lab mark

Assigned based on: pre-lab assignments, lab reports and and end-of-term multiple choice exam. Worth 30 % for CHEM 102 students and 20 % for CHEM 105 students.
