October 1998 Survey
As part of the Chem 10X TA survey carried out at the end of October, 1905 students responded to the statements that
"The lab was an enjoyable experience".

In Chem 101, which is a required course for most students in it, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 65.6 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 8.3 %

In Chem 102, which is a required course for most students in it, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 38.3 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 22.3 %

In Chem 103, which is a required course for all students in it, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 64.5 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 8.7 %

Using ALL STUDENTS, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 63.6 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 9.3 %
a median value of 3.81 on the standard 5 point scale,
ranging from 1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree.

"Laboratory assignments were marked fairly".
In Chem 101, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 83.0 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 5.7 %

In Chem 102, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 78.7 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 4.4 %

In Chem 103, the response was:

Agree or strongly agree 83.5 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 5.6 %

Using ALL STUDENTS, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 82.9 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 5.6 %
a median value of 4.25 on the standard 5 point scale,
ranging from 1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree.

"Directions for lab assignments were clear and specific".
In Chem 101, the response was:

In Chem 102, the response was:
Agree or strongly agree 65.1 %
Disagree or strongly disagree 14.2 %

In Chem 103, the response was:

Using ALL STUDENTS, the response was:

"My TA speaks audibly and clearly".

In Chem 101, the response was:

In Chem 102, the response was:

In Chem 103, the response was:

Using ALL STUDENTS, the response was:

a median value of 3.79 on the standard 5 point scale,
ranging from 1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree.
