Mass Spectrometry Facility

New Equipment:

Bruker Daltonics Ultraflextreme MALDI TOF/TOF: In April of 2010 a new MALDI instrument was installed in the Mass Spectrometry Facility. This instrument has both MS and MS/MS capability. It came with a sample spotting robot to allow for spotting after nano-HPLC separation of mixtures of peptides. Therefore, an enzymatic digest of a protein or glycoprotein can be pre-fractionated and directly spotted onto a sample target after post-column mixing with matrix.

Mascot Server:
In addition, new software tools are available to enhance protein identification and to assist in the detection of protein post-translational modifications. We now have available a Mascot server that is available across the campus but can only be used after a username and password have been assigned. See the following link: Mascot Server (on campus access only)
