Jörn Saupe
Jörn
studied chemistry at the University of Potsdam. In 2007, he received
his diploma in chemistry (with honors distinction) with Prof. Dr.
Martin G. Peter on the synthesis of thioanalogue carbohydrates. In
2011, he obtained his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Joerg
Rademann at the Free University of Berlin and Leibniz Institute for
Molecular Pharmacology. His Ph.D. research was primarily in the area of
identification and optimization of inhibitors for protein-protein
interactions, mainly on the ligands for the PDZ domains of the proteins
Shank3 and Dishevelled 3. He worked at the Leibniz Institute for
Molecular Pharmacology before he joined Prof. Dr. Todd Lowary's group
in 2012. Currently, his project involves the synthesis of modified
glycopeptidolipids derived from Mycobacterium foruitum.
