Browser Requirements and Technical Notes This website has been designed for use on the computer workstations in W1-50 of the Chemistry building (open 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday).
The site has been tested using Internet Explorer 6.02 and every effort has been made to make all features cross-platform and as compatible as possible with current popular browsers. This site uses secondary browser windows in several locations.
If you are not in the Chemistry Computer Lab (W1-50), some of the tutorials on this site require the Macromedia Flash Plug-In (minimum version 4.0). If you can see the "Macromedia Flash Version 4" promotional movie below, then Flash is installed on your computer. However, this does not guarantee that all functions in Flash will work properly on your computer. If you cannot see a movie playing above, download Flash now. Some exercises on this site use the Jmol viewer, which requires that Javascript is enabled (minimum version 1.4). If you cannot see a rotating molecule above, you must enable Javascript for your browser. If you are using this site from an off-campus computer, you can minimize the download time by turning off the automatic image load function on your browser. This will render some of the advanced features inoperable, but will allow you to read all text normally. Links that are provided through images have a text back-up, so you should be able to navigate the site without hindrance. |
