PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Abstracts

After registration, please submit your Abstract to us by e-mail (following the guidelines below) at  bsoc@chem.ualberta.ca

1. Submit as a WORD (*.doc) file.

2. Abstract must fit within a single 8.5 x 11" page.

3. Margins: Left-hand margin 1.5", right-hand, top and bottom margins are 1". Maximum width of text, including title 6", maximum length of text, including title 9".

4. Font : Type abstract in an 11 point Arial font. Leave one blank line between paragraphs and do not indent new paragraphs. All text should be flush with the left-hand margin.

5. Figures : Black and white line drawings and tables may be included in the abstract if they are within the margins.

6. Title, Authors and Institutions: Presenting author should be underlined. Type the abstract title in bold, UPPER CASE letters as shown below.

Oral Presentations

You are allotted a twenty-minute section for your presentation, please allow a few minutes for questions at the end of your talk. Your presentation must be prepared using MS Powerpoint (version 1997 or later) or Keynote (Macs only). Electronic presentations must be prepared with Microsoft PowerPoint (version 1997 or later). Please note that no personal laptops will be permitted in the presentation room. A PC (Windows XP) and a Macintosh (OS X) computer will be provided, along with a LCD projector and a laser pointer. Accordingly, please bring your slideshow on a CD (or USB key) to the registration desk in the Banff Park Lodge when you pick up your registration package. Your slideshow may also be sent to us via email (bsoc@chem.ualberta.ca) on or before (date TBA). Once we have received your presentation we will run through it with you, and then preload it onto the presentation computer.

Poster Presentations

The poster session will run from (time TBA). Each poster must have a title slide or section at the top that indicates the title of the paper, the name(s) of the author(s) (underline your name) and their affiliation(s). The poster boards measure approximately 1.2 m (48") high x 1.8 m (72") wide. You will be provided with the appropriate materials to affix your posters to these boards. You should setup your poster (time TBA).
